FRANCA BAUER
B.APP. SCI., M.OST.
OSTEOPATH and MANUAL THERAPIST
Franca is a New Zealand trained Osteopath, having completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology) and Master of Osteopathy (Second Degree Honours) at Unitec in Auckland. Additionally, she has completed over 450 hours of osteopathic post-graduate courses focussing on paediatrics, cranio-sacral, visceral techniques, balanced ligamentous techniques (BLT), and myofascial release. While she was working in New Zealand, she also received in-house training and mentoring in paediatrics, cranio-sacral and visceral techniques, cupping, sports exercise and rehabilitation, and emotional release techniques.
Franca has completed an international recognition process in 2024, and is officially recognised in Switzerland as an Osteopath.
Franca enjoys incorporating her theoretical knowledge and practical skills to help you figure out the source of pain that is bothering you. She incorporates multiple techniques so she can look at every system in the body and connect these to work holistically. Education and empowerment are two fundamental principles that she wants every person to experience, so they can learn to be in charge of their own bodies and how they feel.
Franca was born here, in Lucerne to parents who were also born and raised here. When she was four, her parents along with her older brother, moved to New Zealand, where they lived on a small island called Waiheke Island. Franca lived in New Zealand for the next 23 years, before she returned to Lucerne.
Franca speaks fluent Swiss-German and English, with her German at a proficient level. When she is not at work, she enjoys hiking, cooking, playing the guitar, snowboarding, travelling, and is currently re-learning how to play the saxophone to play at Fasnacht with her group, the Vikinger.
